Ian Pidd is a freelance director of theatre and festivals. He is based in Melbourne, Australia. His practice veers between programming festivals (The Lost Lands), directing theatre (Men Of Steel's Hard Rubbish) and participatory "things" (Wheeler Centre's 20 Questions). Ian's collaboration with Bec Ried and Kate Macdonald The Inaugural Annual Dance Affair is racking up iterations all over the country. Ian is Artistic Director of the new music and arts festival The Lost Lands. With Jessica Wilson and Nicola Gunn, Ian most recently created and co directed Passenger, the hit emersive theatre work presented by Arts Centre Melbourne and Footscray Community Art Centre. His work tends to be musical, accessible, playful and genre hopping, and is regularly seen throughout Australia and in Europe and Asia.
